Planning for the Big Day

I’ll be picking up my Empulse R tomorrow.

The plan is to drive down there with Billy, a friend from work, in his Volt, get the bike, and then ride back to Maitland. The ride to Maitland is a 115 mile trip, which is technically within the bike’s range, but that would mean almost 6 hours in the saddle! Not too many bikes are comfortable enough for that, and the Empulse isn’t one of them.

Here’s my planned route:

We’ll be stopping in a couple of places to charge up our respective vehicles. The first stop will be at a movie theater, and the second will be at a restaurant. Billy has been driving his Volt around enough to know where all the free charging stations are and which ones have something interesting to do at them, so this trip is going to be a lot more fun than if I had to guess where to go. The actual route that we’ll be taking is probably going to be a bit different since Billy has suggested a couple of other free charging places to stop along the way.

Check list:

• Cashiers check for the bike. √
• Icon riding gear. √
• Charge Point account to access the free charging stations. √
• Drivers license with motorcycle endorsement. √
• Somebody to get me there. √
• Planed route for getting back home. √
